Rain is forecast for later on today plus we have to make it to Ipswich by 15:45 to catch our train back to London, so with an early start we have ordered a takeaway breakfast to be left with the night porter for us to collect.we have a short chat he asked us what we were doing telling him our plan for the day & by 7.00 we are into our walk, a shorter day today finishing at Snape bridge.
Awake early, not a good nights rest as the room as hot & no ac meant we had a fan running. All packed up we go to see the night porter a very cheery man who gives us our take out boxes & offers hot drinks. We have a short chat he asked us what we were doing telling him our plan for the day say good night/day & by 7.00 we are into our walk, a shorter day today finishing at Snape bridge. The sandwiches although well packed in environmental friendly boxes look ok from the outside we find that the box is probably more edible than the contents so it all gets recycled!
Before long we again turn into narrow hedge lined foot paths gathering spider webs on our arms, I feel like a candy floss stick gathering the first few threads of sugar. (but I don't look like a candy floss) crossing golf courses, Metal roads, sandy tracks, roadside path's board walk's & some lovely forest tracks we have it all today. The sky has light clouds & a rainbow is visible so already it's raining ahead of us. We do get a very light shower but we brave it without waterproof's.
Arriving at Snape bridge this is where we part company with the coast path for the time being next time we walk this will be our starting point but for now we have to make our way to Ipswich. We can walk it's about 4.5 miles so very achievable but there is also a bus stop which looking at the time table is due, it did not arrive Lesley calls the number & it turns out it is a dial a-ride service called KATCH & twenty minutes later a mini bus arrives & picks us up taking us to Wickham market train station which is actually three miles outside Wickham market at Camp sea Ashe, confusing! A short five mile journey to the station newly refurbished in 2017 with a good café Coffee & Guinness cake very thick stodgy cake but tasty washed down with good coffee.
The train arrives & takes us into Ipswich way ahead of schedule so we take the opportunity to visit the town, nothing as we imagined a historic town with ornate architecture narrow streets but in need financial support as there are a lot of run down buildings.
