West Wittering to Bosham via Itchenor ferry

Today we have a little walk from the car to the bus stop only 1:27 Miles 16:00:18 Time 015 Feet  but statistics matter😃 

Route to bus stop

We have arrived via the bus at West Wittering this time walking East to West taking in the peninsular with it's sand dunes, but first walking along the sand over round & through the groins.

The water is low leaving a vast expanse of sandy beach, the wind blowing leaving corrugations in the sand.

On we go out onto the peninsular our route will take us round the edge coming just meters from the path we took out on to the almost island peninsular it would have been so easy to have missed this part out but the nature & beauty was worth the effort.

The sand walk peters out into marshland & it get's a little muddy under foot sticky mud....

But some great trees created by the prevailing wind.

Into the woods 

We met a couple in the woods walking in the woods on a footpath parallel to a field & the guy was absolutely convinced that they had seen/found ambergris... Whale vomit, used in the making of perfume & with a high value.

They were not impressed with me when I told them that it was a salt block used in farming for the cows to lick.

After a lovely coffee & cake at the local sailing club refreshed we finish the short walk to the ferry by the port office, after a short wait we board the Ferry.

Back on dry land we continue on to Bosham just a few miles to finish our days walking. Another lovely day inching our way around the coast line.
